When Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 is available, Acer use Realtek Audio devices for their notebook products. Few years back, Conexant was one of the popular audio devices for Acer model which released During Windows XP era.Unlike Realtek, conexant does not provides specific driver updates on their support site. There is different method to install the audio in windows 7, here is an example for Acer aspire 1690 and Aspire 3600 conexant audio driver installation:
Before proceed with driver installation, just try this drivers first:
1. Conexant_acer_win7 :
Download 2. Since the signature is AC97, give a try with realtek AC97 drivers :
Download LinkInstall by right click and select run as admin.

Download2. Extract the driver file and select "properties" and select "compatibility". Tick "run this program in compatibility mode for" select Windows XP.
